TIPS IN SHARING A HOUSE

Sharing a house with your friends or your officemates is probably one of the best things in the world.  Not only because you would be living with your best girlfriends or your officemates would who are closest to you but you also be sharing expenses with them.  Living with your friends or officemates is not just a great way to bond and spend time with them, it is also a nice way of allowing you to save more money and spend less, what with all the bills and the food that you could share with each other.   When you are a sharing a house with your friends or officemates, you could also afford to rent those apartments and spaces which are nice and located in a safe neighbourhood.  You could surely avoid those apartments which do not pass the building code and the safety that you require.

Still, there are some things that you would have to consider and straighten out before you could live with your friends and officemates.  So for you to be able to fully enjoy the experience of living with your friends or officemates and keep the hassles at bay, here is a list of all the things that you would have to clarify with your housemates to be.

One of the things that you would have to deal with first is the expenses in the house.  You might want to list down the regular expenses that you would have to pay and your corresponding shares.  You might also want to start a monthly or weekly fund for maintenance in the house.  You would need to know if all of you would share for all the bills.  You might also want to assign people for particular tasks.  You could volunteer to pay the electric bill, and then you could tell the others that they would serve as liaisons to the land lord or land lady and then assign other to pay the other bills.

Aside from those bills and work, you might also want to determine your budget for the food.  Would you want to buy your own food or would you want to share with the others.  You better do this early on so as to prevent any arguments that could possibly arise, especially if you are dealing with matters concerning food.

Just for the formality of it, you might also want to prepare and sign a lease.  This is just to make sure that all of you housemates are protected by the right that the lease you signed could provide you.  This would also serve as the list of rules that you would have to follow while you are living together.

After a few months of living together, you might want to run an evaluation.  You should do this to determine if all of you housemates are happy with the living arrangements.  You could also do this to see if there are areas that you would have to improve on and or remove or replace.
