Purchasing something that is flattering alone. Meaning, something that is eye catching and yet something that does not even look good on you. There are only two types of clothes. Those that flatter you and those that don’t. Given the two choices, I suggest you pick the one that flatters you. Who wouldn’t anyway? You have to look at the mirror to see through yourself. Choose something that would greatly highlight your assets and mask those that should be hidden. Do not merely choose something because it is pretty or it is branded.

The idea of an outfit being pretty is much more seen when it is worn. A pretty wardrobe would always depend on the one who is totally working it out. Any wardrobe, no matter how good the matching of the colours, the sexy it looks or how costly it is can still be a total nightmare if the one who is wearing it do not even look good on it.

Shopping with friends. I know that there is nothing more enjoying in life than to shop with a whole bunch of friends to give you their ideas. But, it is a no-no. Having friends to contradict or agree with what you want when shopping will only result to you purchasing something that is less flattering and something that is unnecessary. So if you are to shop with friends make sure have already in mind what you want to buy plus you must bring discipline with you.

You can never tell whether a friend is competing with you. A competitive friend will just drag you into making regretful choices. And you do not want that to happen.

Power shopping without a list. Make sure you always have a list of whatever it is that you need to buy so you won’t end up buying less or buying more of what you actually need. More so, having a list beside you will help you keep on tract on the diminishing value of your purchasing power. It is either you increase or decrease the value you are supposed to meet.

Purchasing shoes because they look fabulous. There is nothing more worse than to purchase an uncomfortable to wear shoes because it merely looks fabulous. Your poise make or break your outfit. And since it is the totality of your outfit, anything that restricts you from your movements will be a great turn off. Much more when your shoes are uncomfortable to wear. Not only that it will affect your walk or your poise, it will also aggravate your feet’s situation.

Buying something unnecessary because of a fantastic sale. Not only that it will cost you money but also it will be a total waste of closet space. You must always remember that shopping is not merely about buying stuffs that are worth less but about buying stuffs that are worth less and at the same time useful to you. Wasting resources is a totally bad idea.

Coping with teenager’s moods and tantrums needs your patience and understanding, the same thing with getting them to clean and organize their rooms. Teenagers really values their privacy so you can’t just enter their rooms when they’re not around so what you can do is teach and show the proper way of organizing their room to avoid reminding them all the time. For starters, you must set an example by setting up rules and following them especially in the aspect of organizing. Show them that organizing their room will give them more free time for other kids’ activities and be less stressed when they know where to find everything.

Upon waking up, get them to make up their own bed and make sure that there are no blankets pillows or sheets on the floor scattered on the floor. You can buy shoe organizer for frequently worn shoes and keep shoes inside the box if they have done wearing them and arrange them on a stockpile so they will know where to get it when they need it.

Clothes always end up on the floor after every changing, so it is a great idea to get wide-mouth laundry hamper near the closet or dresser to keep dirty clothes off the floor. Before the basket gets too full, let them bring it to the laundry room for washing. Teach them how to hang and fold clothes in an organized fashion like arranging clothes by color or by type.

Homework should always be a priority before any other activities so set up a desk for homework. It must have a large work surface and proper lighting fixtures. Computer desk tables with a comfortable computer chair should be set up in the available computer space.

Put up shelves like bookcases or wall-mounted shelves for books, music equipment, CDs, videos, accessories, headphones and other musical device items. A filing cabinet to store school supplies and paper works will teach your kids on having an effective filing system early in life. Install a high shelf below the ceiling on one or more walls to store and display treasured family photos, trophies, small trinkets and collectibles or memorabilia.

Label and store out-of-season clothes on the top shelf or under the bed in plastic containers. Any clothing that hasn’t been worn in over a year should be donated. Set up hooks for belts and jackets on the back of the closet. Remind them to empty the bin or trash can daily to avoid clutter.

The most important part of teaching your teenager to organize his room is to ask his opinion on the things that he or she value most and let your teen choose the essential items he feels he really needs and about other items that he’s reluctant to let go of. But most of all cleaning and organizing your teen’s room will show him how much time and work it takes and keeping his room clean and organized will help him keep track of his things, will take less time doing it all over again, and most of all, he will grow up into a matured and responsible person.

Mount a full-length mirror on the back of the door. This will encourage the cherubs to keep the space behind the door clear and give them a place to check their appearance before entering the world.

Respect your teenagers’ privacy within the bounds of your house rules. If you promise not to enter their rooms when they’re not around, stick to your word.

This is the third part of the three part article entitled GETTING RID OF A FLATMATE, called the GETTING RID OF A FLATMATE PT.3, where you will know what the steps to take in getting rid of a roommate or a flatmate when he or she stops being a help you to and ends up as a nuisance or an annoying flatmate. Here are some of the tips that you could follow if you want to get rid of your annoying flatmate with a real nerve. In the second instalment of this series of articles, we have talked about the easiest and most direct way of informing that annoying flatmate or roommate of yours that you do not want to share food or anything with him or her. We have also talked about the things that you could do to make sure that he or she does not have a legal claim on your pad of flat, or else you will have more problems on your hands and a fuller plate of things to do instead of being rid of it.

Another thing that you could do to be rid of an annoying flatmate is to stop bringing food with you when you go home to your flat. This would really work especially if that roommate or flatmate of yours is not just annoying but is a glutton as well. If you do this, that roommate or flatmate of yours will realize that he or she cannot get anything from you anymore and that he or she would have to move on and find another roommate to live with. Who knows, maybe he or she could find a roommate that can tolerate him or her and can even end up liking him or her. Who knows?

If you have a very nice internet connection in your flat or if you are a subscriber to cable TV with 600 channels, you could also get rid of this, at least temporarily, as this might also be the reason why he or she loves hanging out and living in your flat. But you should know that the suspension is only temporary, you must make sure that he knows that the suspension is permanent, so that he or she will think of permanently leaving you and your pad or flat.

You might also want to cut back on cleaning the house for a bit. Your roommate does not have a boy or a cleaning lady in you, so he or she would have to pick up after himself or herself. If he or she still does not pick up after their selves, then you would have every reason to kick them out of the flat.

Another thing that you could do is to talk to him or her, and this would be the hardest to do, because you are going to have to be very honest with him or her. You would have to tell him or her what you really think and feel and start from that.

This is the second part of the three part article entitled GETTING RID OF A FLATMATE, called the GETTING RID OF A FLATMATE PT.2, where you will learn how to get rid of a roommate or a flatmate when he or she stops being a help you to and ends up as a nuisance or an annoying flatmate. Here are some of the tips that you could follow if you want to get rid of your annoying flatmate with a real nerve. In the first instalment of the article, we talked about some of the advantages that you are bound to enjoy when you have a flatmate or a roommate. However, there are times when you do not get along with your roommate whatever you do, and you could not blame anyone for it, not even your roommate.

No matter how much you really get along with other people, no matter how comfortable you are with them or even if they are complete strangers and you still feel like exchanging and sharing life stories with them, you are still bound to meet someone along the way who you could not be real friends with and cannot even be civil with, and that is just normal and that is just inevitable. And you would just have to do something to keep the peace and from suffering from World War III inside your flat, and here are the tips and ways that you could do to be rid of that annoying flatmate of yours; some of this might be really tricky and sneaky, but bear in mind that you would just have to go with it and do it so you could keep both your sanity.

One of the things that you could do to be rid of your super annoying flatmate or roommate is to make sure that his or her name is not included in the list of tenants that you are giving your land lord or land lady. This is a very direct move and will convey what you truly want to say in very easy and simple terms. This would also be the most straightforward way because you are informing all the people involved, the lessor and your other flatmates that you do not want that particularly annoying flatmate of yours as a flatmate anymore. This would also be easy because he or she will not have a legal claim on your flat anymore because he or she is no longer a tenant.

Another thing that you could do is to make sure that he or she does not have the right to stake a claim in your flat anymore, and that he or she cannot contest you in your will to not share a flat with him or her anymore. You could do this by taking care of the legal procedures and making sure that there would be no loopholes in it.

This article is continued on the next instalment, entitled, GETTING RID OF A FLATMATE PT.2.

This is the first part of the three part article entitled GETTING RID OF A FLATMATE, called the GETTING RID OF A FLATMATE PT.1, where you will learn how to get rid of a roommate or a flatmate when he or she stops being a help you to and ends up as a nuisance or an annoying flatmate.

One of the perks of having a roommate or a flatmate is that you have someone to share the load and the expenses that is brought upon by living away from the comforts of the home where you grew up and away from the protective sphere built and maintained around you by your parents. When you have a roommate or a flatmate, you can ask someone to help you do the dishes and help you clean the house, but if you are all alone in the flat that you are renting, you will have to deal with the cleaning and the washing and the maintenance all by yourself. Also, when you have a roommate, you can share the bills that you have to pay with them; be it electricity, water or gas. You could also share the rent of the flat with your roommate, so you would not have to pay it in full all by yourself, because you have someone to take over the other half or the other quarters of the full payment.

When you have a roommate, you would also have someone to share food with. Let us say for example that you want to buy a box of cheese pizza, but you very well know that you cannot consume that box of cheese pizza all by yourself, and it would not taste the same if you refrigerate it, so what would happen is that you will not get to order and eat the cheese pizza that you have been craving for in so many days or you will be able to eat cheese pizza but the rest or the part that you are already too stuffed to eat will just end up in the trash. But if you have a roommate, you will have someone to share the pizza and the payment to eat. Between you and them, you are sure that you will be able to consume the whole order, putting nothing to waste and saving you a lot of money. Also, when you have a roommate or a flatmate, it would be like you had an instant friend; one that you could share stories with or exchange gossips with. I am sure that your friendship will be an instant hit because you are going to be with someone just like you; trying to be independent from your parents and trying and beginning to explore the world outside the protective sphere built by both your parents.

However, there are times when you do not get along with your roommate whatever you do…

Sharing a house with your friends or your officemates is probably one of the best things in the world. Not only because you would be living with your best girlfriends or your officemates would who are closest to you but you also be sharing expenses with them. Living with your friends or officemates is not just a great way to bond and spend time with them, it is also a nice way of allowing you to save more money and spend less, what with all the bills and the food that you could share with each other. When you are a sharing a house with your friends or officemates, you could also afford to rent those apartments and spaces which are nice and located in a safe neighbourhood. You could surely avoid those apartments which do not pass the building code and the safety that you require.

Still, there are some things that you would have to consider and straighten out before you could live with your friends and officemates. So for you to be able to fully enjoy the experience of living with your friends or officemates and keep the hassles at bay, here is a list of all the things that you would have to clarify with your housemates to be.

One of the things that you would have to deal with first is the expenses in the house. You might want to list down the regular expenses that you would have to pay and your corresponding shares. You might also want to start a monthly or weekly fund for maintenance in the house. You would need to know if all of you would share for all the bills. You might also want to assign people for particular tasks. You could volunteer to pay the electric bill, and then you could tell the others that they would serve as liaisons to the land lord or land lady and then assign other to pay the other bills.

Aside from those bills and work, you might also want to determine your budget for the food. Would you want to buy your own food or would you want to share with the others. You better do this early on so as to prevent any arguments that could possibly arise, especially if you are dealing with matters concerning food.

Just for the formality of it, you might also want to prepare and sign a lease. This is just to make sure that all of you housemates are protected by the right that the lease you signed could provide you. This would also serve as the list of rules that you would have to follow while you are living together.

After a few months of living together, you might want to run an evaluation. You should do this to determine if all of you housemates are happy with the living arrangements. You could also do this to see if there are areas that you would have to improve on and or remove or replace.

Bad roommates or flatmates are probably one of the worst things that you could ever come across with in your years of living in a common apartment and trying to be independent from your parents, aside from condemned buildings, increase in monthly rents and land lords and land ladies from hell of course. Anyway, if you are one of those people who very much like to kick their bad roommates out but could not do it for one reason or another, here are some of the tips that you could follow so that you kick out your bad roommate or bad roommates without much fuss and without further ado.

One of the popular and high proven things that you could do to get rid of that nasty roommate of yours is to make sure that his or her name is not included in the list of names of tenants which you are going to submit to your landlord or landlady to renew your rent or lease on the flat or pad. With this, you are making sure that he or she will no longer be your roommate or flatmate.

Another thing that you could do is to consult with your land lord or land lady first before you even make a move. No matter how evil your land lord or land lady may be, I believe that they are still bound to understand your predicament and you that you can win them over on your side.

But still, even if your land lord or land lady was not even the least bit sympathetic to you and your predicament, you can then proceed to seeking the help of other people who are considered as authorities in this type of situation. You can take to the housing officials and ask for their advice.

Another good and truthful thing to do is to take to your roommate about the problems that you currently have. For this confrontation, it would be better if you could use the office of the land lord or the land lady. You can even do this over cups of coffee. Who knows, you might even be able to settle the matter without having to force each other to leave the apartment and look for another. You must remember that a good talk should always be one of the options when it comes to settling scores.

But if worse comes to worst and the talk and confrontation that you have had still did not do the trick, then you would just have to request him or her to leave the flat or pad and look for another. If all things came up to this, you should expect him or her to resist your attempt to kick them out. You should expect that he or she will not give up their place and right in your pad without a good fight. When this happens, just make sure that you do not get stirred up no matter what he or she does to you.

Nowadays, it is really, really practical to have someone to share with when it comes to expenses and anything that would only be good to share, such as doing carpools, sharing on a box of pizza that you will not be able to consume entirely and, the best of all, sharing in house rentals. If you do the sharing that I am talking about, you would be able to save a lot of money, which you can use to buy many other things.

However, looking for roommates is really not that easy. And a lot worse than that is the fact that it is far more difficult to find a roommate that you can trust and can go along nicely with and who you can be comfortable with. And if it is that hard to find a roommate, then what would happen to your plans of spending less and saving more, nothing. You would not be able to save more because you will surely be spending less.

Anyway, if you are really sure that you want to go looking for a roommate, then here are some tips and suggestions that I have collected just for you.

One of the things that you could do to attract more candidates and potential roommates is to lower the cost of the rent of the roommate that you want to be rented. This way, many people would consider your room offering and might even be talked into renting with you. Of course, lowering the rent would mean that you would still have to pay the amount that you subtracted from the actual rent, but that is far better that paying the full rent all by yourself, and you would not be lowering it in crazy amounts; just 50 or 25 bucks would do.

If you do not want to lower the rent, then you could just offer a free use of one utility. Let us say for example that you ask your roommate to pay for his or her own electric bill, then you could offer to pay his or her water bill, but the rent of the room will be the same. Doing this would also attract potential roommates.

If you have any spare furniture in your attic that you do not have any use of, you could also throw this together in the package to make renting with you more attractive and appealing. You could also combine this with the free use of one utility or the discount in the cost of the rent.

Another is that you could waive the usual deposits when renting. Many land lords and land ladies ask for down payments and deposits, but what are deposits really for? There is a use for the down payment, because that would serve as a reservation on the room that he or she is renting, but you can just waive the deposits because you have no real use for it.

Well, that’s it. Good luck in finding your roommate!

Here are some of the tips that you might want to check out and follow when it comes to dealing with your college roommates. You could do this to maintain some peace and quiet in your dorm or in your apartment.

One of the first things that you would need to do is to get to know your new college roommate. You would not have a hard time doing it especially if you exert effort in doing this. You could also do this by talking to him or her and by knowing what his or interests are and his or her likes and dislikes. By doing this, you would be able to build a rapport and that could become the bridge that would connect you to each other. There is also nothing wrong in choosing to befriend someone who you are going to be living with for a year and for at least a few months.

Another thing that you could do win the friendship of your college roommate is to be nice to him or to her. Even if he or she snubs you and ignores you, you must still try your best to be friends with him or her. Show him or her that you are only after the friendship and camaraderie that could potentially develop from living in the same quarters for quite some time. Trust me, your nice and kind manners and attitude will eventually gain you his or her friendship.

Talking is also a nice way of reaching out to each other and working out the differences and the issues that you have. With talking, you would be able to settle many scores instead of harbouring them. You could also get to know each other by talking and exchanging stories and ideas, which could pave the way so you could bond further and forge this bond stronger.

However, when you are talking and sharing ideas, you must remember that the person you are talking to is raised in different set of culture and norms and that you might have clashing and contradicting beliefs about many things. When this happens, you must remember to keep an open mind, so as to not create any heated arguments and that you would not fight over with your beliefs.

Another thing that you could do, and this is the most basic of all things that you could to be able to be friends with your roommate is to respect him or her. You must respect the fact that he came from a different town with different cultures and norms, and that he or she has different beliefs. Instead of mocking him or laughing at him or her, you could just learn to respect their ideas and you will surely get the same respect in return.

Also, make sure that you are being a good roommate; you should pay the half of your rent in time and be wary of his schedule and activities in the university.
