so i am attending a university that my best friend happened to also get in to. well we used to be like sisters but i feel like we are having a falling out. She has been getting on my nerves a lot because just recently she developed a love to party and i feel like i will have to teach her everything because she wont pay attention (that is how it is now our Senior year of HS). she always goes out with her friend to all night party’s, and she thinks that because my boyfriend has a apartment off campus we will go there and party all of the time since we don’t know anyone else going there. which is not true, because my boyfriends friends don’t like her but they said they will deal with her a couple times a month at their place because they like me (as friends). and not to mention she gets to be rude at times when she is drunk.
Well i know if we don’t room together she wont go to the university, or any college she will go work in a beauty shop. i don’t know weather i should room with her and risk the stress or just not put her name down on the paper and pretend like it just didn’t work out. im not afraid of having a room mate i don’t know.
please please anyone and everyone help me!!!!!!

1 year after this dude moved out, my brother moved in, and I changed the electric bill into my name.
now all of a sudden I found that the old roommate owes $150 on his bill, and it’s now randomly being put on my bill 1 year later, now under my name. I didn’t know he didn’t pay it, and nothing showed for a whole year
The bill used to be under his name.
The old roommate is hidden off in the woods somewhere in Washington, how do I get out of this bill, that was under his name, that the charges were for.
Any suggestions?

I have told my roommate more than 100 times not to smoke in the house, because the landlord told us not to smoke. The landlord actually came down and spoke to me 2 times about the smoking, but the problem is my roommate is the one who smokes not me. I keep telling that idiot, not to smoke in house, and i keep telling him to tell his friends not to do it. What should i do? I don’t want to be a rat, but i have asked them many times not to smoke in the house, it was in the leasing form when we signed it. Help!

She is 17 years old, and just graduating High School. There will be a total of 5 roommates, all the rest of which are above 18. Would she need to be emancipated from her parents? Would they need to sign the lease? Can she be personally responsible?

My roommate is quite possibly the laziest person I know. I’m almost wishing I had chosen to live with someone else. He’s a nice guy and we get along well except he cannot clean ANYTHING. We’ve lived here for a month and pretty much the only contribution he’s made has been to clean out the dishwasher one time. He’s had big boxes of trash at the door to go out for weeks now and there have been dishes in the sink for like 2 weeks (with the dishwasher right next to the sink). I clean up after him all the time, but it’s just a matter of respect after a point. I’m not going to be his mother and clean up everything after him. Any tips?
Also, I wrote in our lease agreement that we are each responsible for half the cleaning.

Ok so my room mate recently came out and im happy for her and all, but she constantly has her girlfriend over. How do i let her know that its starting to bother me. I understand this is her home to, but i need time to myself as well. I don’t wanna seem like im judging her or make her feel uncomfortable, i would just like to not have her gf always over here eating my food ect.

her being pregnant is not the problem, the problem is that her boyfriend has stayed at our house every night since then which has been 5 months. I am just sick of having an extra roomie and I think that he should pay rent too. Is this fair? How do I tell her that I am sick of this situation? I can’t even walk around my house in my underwear!

So there are four of us living in a town home. Three of us get along really well and other girl is very hard to live with. She is our “debbie downer.” She is constantly in a bad mood and gets mad at the smallest things, which makes her mad at us alot.
The three of us that get along want to renew our lease but we don’t know how to tell our problem roommate to move out without hurting her feelings too much. We have to tell our leasing company a month in advance so we will have to live with her for a month after we tell her.
Any advice??

I have a roommate that has sex with her boyfriend, while I’m in the same room. I’m not sure why she does this, but I get imbarrassed and leave the room. Should I have a talk with her? Are am I just making too big of a deal about it?

Hi,
I live in a suite that accommodates 10 people..and I live in a quad…so there are 4 ppl i share my study room/bedroom with..My roommates had problems with my using a certain kind of lotion, the food that I kept on my table for long periods of time,the amount of space I occupied and the make-up I would sometimes accidentally spill in the bathroom..and there was this one time when I accidentally opened the shower curtain when someone was showering inside…Well, the major reason behind this nuisance i caused was I was Really busy with my classes all week since the beginning of winter quarter…and the shower accident took place cause i was not well that day so i didnt realize someone was in there
However, I DO admit it was my fault..i was causing discomfort to my suitemates
My question is,..
we had a suite meeting today and i didn’t even know there were certain things about me bothering my suitemates until they kinda blew up at the meeting…in FRONT of everyone else..
